IndustryBrains and Google AdSense...

Can they co-exist legally?

Hello everyone! I have a quick question for anyone in the know. We are currently running Google AdSense and are considering IndustryBrains as an additional form of income. Does anyone know if they can co-exist legally and by Googles terms? Google has done good by us and I don't really want to compromise that relationship.

Any thoughts are appreciated! Thanks!

Here is my response for the same question in an earlier thread:

You can double check with Google, but industrybrains does market itself as being a contextual advertiser, since it is still delivering ads based upon the content of the page, regardless of what method it uses to deliver those ads. Based upon that, I would consider it a competitor to adsense and not permitted on the same page as adsense.

Thats what I was thinking too, but wanted to see if anyone had already 'been down that road'. I shall contact Google to find out. I'm guessing I know what the answer is ;)

Thanks for the fast reply!

FastClick was another advertiser I was looking into. They also look pretty decent and I don't recall seeing anything regarding context advertising... maybe I need to check again to be sure.

G told me no to Industry Brain
[webmasterworld.com...]

Fastclick is a banner ad network, not contextual advertising provider so they are ok.

Does fastclick pay out monthly? Can you check daily stats?

just went to the fastclick site. 65% payout with earnings distributed on the 25th of each month for the month prior. not bad. just wonder how large their base of advertisers is

Fastclick pays out about 20-25 days after the end of the month. Pretty much like Google. Quality of advertisers, though, is so-so particularly banners. You have to select carefully. Lots of blinking ads. We only select a third of their banner advertisers. Popunders, if you choose to run them, gives the highest payouts. They have also new creatives - half page and the rectangles - that give good effective CPMs.

Another ad network, Burst has better quality advertisers, but pays only after 90 days - if you meet their monthly cutoff. But 90 days is a looooong time. And here we complain of Google.

One warning about traditional ad networks: They sometimes run Google AdWords banners, so you'll need to be careful that you don't "double serve" Google ads from both the ad network and AdSense on your pages.

I've been using fastclick for about 4 years now and they have paid on time, every month on the 20th of the month like clockwork (they also have paypal as a payment option).

As has already been said, you should make sure you disable any adsense campaigns that fastclick may be running in their network to prevent double serving.

You also have to watch out for extreme blinking ads. They also have some advertisers that pay CPM. They have a pretty wide range of advertisers.

Do I am allowed to run my own targeted text ads (not from any external advertising network) next to the adsense ads? Or are they also prohibited?
