I have three sites, adding all together I have abut 70,000 or 80,000 pageviews a month. I thought I could sell 1000 pageviews for $10. That is, I am supposed to make $700. With google, I made $70 last month.
I have the following feelings:
1) I watch closely the clickthrough rate. Almost all the time in the morning the rate is highest, then go down and down, I wonder if they took out some clicks?
2) They serve so called public ads. I do not like it
3) They do not always have ad for me, so often titmes, I waste many pageviews.
Is there any company that can offer better service?
Thanks/
But what Swash meant is that maybe the page is about dolphins, for example, and there aren't any advertisers related to that subject. Also, if you aren't located in the USA, you may not be seeing all the ads that are being shown on your website.
[edit]Heh heh, or what Swash may have meant is that your pages contain stop words. Anyway both possibilities exist.[/edit]
Now I understand what swash meant. Yeeah, content makes big difference. Maybe I ma in a wrong business:-)
But I guess the issue is more than my side. One page usually get quite nice ad for this moment. then it could not get any ad next minute. I do not think the advertisers change their minds so quick. google has enough advertisers to offere plenty of ads. What I am afraid is that google offer some of my traffic to please some organizations. I idd not show up those ads, so I oftent get blank on the pages.

Google does some ad rotation, either by advertiser or by theme. The same ads aren't served all the time.
Also, you mentioned that your earnings drop during the day. This could simply mean that advertisers in your niche are reaching their daily budget limits early in the day.

Not likely, because public-service ads (PSAs) don't make money for Google.
I dod not think that is because the advertisers used up their money. If that is the case, I should see some days, the pattern goes another direction, that is in the start of the day, I get a low ctr, then in the end of the day get a high ctr, that never happened.
I do believe that there is a strong chance that google is taking out some clicks for whatever reasons.
With this kind of business mode, publishers are always subject to manipulation.
One of these days, I can going to design a way that help the publishers, especially the small ones:-)
As for Google showing PSA's in order to cheat you, that does not make any sense and does not happen. The problem is either with (a) your page, or (b) where you are physically located. I have lots of pages that never show PSA's ever.
Plus, you should note that even though you may be seeing PSAs, other visitors who load your page from a different country may be seeing actual ads and very few PSAs. The only way to know is to specify an alternate page to load from your server instead of the PSA. That way you can have actual data from your server logs.
