Competitors in google adsense

Afraid of competitors in google adsense.

I run a website for college students. I have many competitors for my website. I have just put google adsense ads on my website.
I just want to know if my competitors want to kick me out of the google adsesne program they can easily do it by manual clicks.

Is there any system by which google can trace those competitors through IP's?

What action will google take if they find such kind of manaul clicks?

Will they inform me about this?

They will probably stop counting clicks from said IPs. As long as you don't share an IP, it's probably not an issue. If they send you a letter, write them back and tell them what is going on.

But what if they are using different IPs? And does Google ignor proxy IPs?

Yes, it could happen. But it would be unlikely.

If there are invalid clicks generated, you will get a warning email from AdSense.

I see this question come up again and again, and I wonder why people are so concerned about it?

I've personally never given any thought to whether people are clicking my ads for any reason other than the fact that they're interested in the content being displayed.

I mean really, what makes people think that anyone has the time to sit there and click other people's advertisements? What purpose would it serve other than to INCREASE the advertisers click-through rating and cost them a couple more bucks? Big deal.

Anyone who would actually DO that is probably so unsuccessful with their OWN adwords campaigns that they won't be a competitor for long.

This issue is discussed again an again because according to me something must have happed with many people in the past. I think there is no full proof solutions to find out if the clicks are invalid or not.

And nobody will like to get kicked just because other person is clicking on your site to throw you out.

I've seen 10 clicks in a row from one IP on my AdSense ads.

I didn't get a notice.. I'm sure they just give only one credit per IP per day.

They count multiple clicks from the same user, as long as they're on different ads.

A couple of different times I've seen crazy click levels...32 clicks in less than a minute on the same ad, for instance.

I tested this in IE myself (not on an Adsense ad). If I just start clicking repeatedly on a link, it causes the page to refresh very rapidly, but the browser doesn't actually go to the new page until I stop clicking. I'm sure something like that would only be counted once.

I think this is a very important fundamental flaw in the adsense system. Kicking people out from others action is no way to run anything, in fact it is just plain stupid.

If this continues like it has in the past, I would expect some other adsense like content matching ads by large companies (MSFT maybe) to grow stronger.

I was kind of disturbed at the big adsense advertising campaign when some major issues are still unresolved.

If google really wants to work google adsense much better in future they should allow PUBLISHERS to view full report like :
1. How many ads clicked per day?
2. From What IP's?
3. How many ads are clicked from same IP?
4. Are same ads are clicked again and again?

I guess google should improve the statistics for PUBLISHERS so they will not have to suffer big tension. If publisher can find out same IP's of fradulent clicks, he can deny that IP for website. I guess since many people have suffered from this kind of competitors who want to kick opponents out of google adsense program that's why this question is raised again and again.

So Google should consider of improving REPORT STATS for Publishers soon...

Hopefully with the new payment structure in place your EPC will simply decrease if you get fraudulent clicks.

I had a day when I checked my stats really early and Google showed 6 impressions with 4 clicks...Google obviously counted them but the payout amount was for what I would expect for 1 click.
