I think there is something with adsense not counting an impression if it is showing alternative ads (?)

If they are showing the alternative ads(non commercial) then again the point is why not commercial ads on commercial sites...? And if they are commercial ads why google is not adding the number of impressions in adsense account. Earlier i was having around x impressions on 1 site, now i have more than 5 sites indexed in the google WITH x/5 impressions :(

Anybody else

Thanks

Actually, the impressions in the AdSense reports do include Alternate Ad (AA) impressions and PSAs (Public Service Ads). An impression is generated and recorded each and every time the AdSense JavaScript code is called, regardless of whether an Adwords customer's ad is shown, an AA is shown or a PSA is shown. This has been mentioned numerous times here and verified by others.

experienced, adding pages to your site and getting more pages indexed by Google does not necessarilly translate into more AdSense impressions. It doesn't even necessarilly translate into more page views. If your concern is that your page views on pages displaying AdSense are increasing, but the AdSense impressions reported by the Google reports aren't, then that is something worth investigating.

Maybe you can clarify exactly what you're seeing and what the problem is.

No, adsense stats DO NOT include alternative-ad impressions. If you have not specified any alternative ads, then the PSAs are included in the stats.

I have been experiencing similar problems with impressions down ~25% for the last week, although there is no reason for this to be so.

Actually, I believe the impressions reported in the AdSense stats include both AdSense ads and PSA's/alternate ads.
