How long does your bank take to cash your AdSense Check. I'm intrested in U.S., but others might want to have info for other counties. I use Firth Third (5/3) bank, and they manage to hold the check for 6 days every time. Thinking about changing banks. Is it always this slow for people in the U.S. Cashing checks from outside your State?

My bank cashes the check immediately.

I went to the bank and just got cash, in Canada, it took about 15 minutes because there were forms to fill out and they had to convert the USD to CAD, but other than that, there were no issues.

Banks must follow "Funds availability" rules regarding checks. I think that the rule is (4 business days) for non-local checks. This means that the money will show up in your account from the moment you deposit it, but it will be "uncollected". This allows the bank to charge you a fee if a check comes in and there is no collected funds in my account.

How long do I have to wait? Well, I don't have to wait anything since I work where I deposit the money.

On the other hand, you can get the check cashed at the teller inmediately if there is enough money in your account that is collected, the people at the bank know you, the bank has relaxed policies, or even if without you even knowing your account has been upgraded to a "higher level of trust" after being with them for a while.

I have commerce bank if you deposit 3 checks from the same company, then they'll start cashing them once they've seen they have no problems.

Been with the same bank the last five years. The funds are available when I deposit the check.

It pays to stick with the same bank and build up the relationship.

It also dpends on how big the check is. For my bank, if it's over $5,000 it will take atleast two weeks, while my last Google check took about a week (It was under $5,000 :( :( ).

Anyone know of a legit bank/banks that you can come in, hand over your check and "run" out with cash all in the same hour? Names of banks would be most helpfull.

Approx 30 seconds?

Hand check to teller, teller deposits to account (I'm in Canada but also have USD denominated accounts), funds are available.

Its really very simple... my bank is great :) (well, credit union actually - VanCity).

I first cleared the check in Thailand and it took as around 3-4 weeks. Now we clear them in Canada (Regina) and it takes 15 minutes at most.

If your in the U.S. talk to your banker, then talk to others and so on. It can be done faster than 6 days. It actually can be done in about 2 minutes. Just gotta get someone who knows what they are doing and they have to believe that the check will not bounce to the moon and back.
Good luck.

2 to 5 minutes depending on the volume of customers in front of me.

Two minutes, maximum. Cash mine at the TD Bank in Calgary and there's no questions, no wait time - I'd change banks if there was.

If you're in North America, you can probably talk sense into your bank if they give you a hard it. It's a check from Google (they surely know the company)--not going to bounce. Also point out that you do this once a month, and have had no problems in the past.
