The state trooper wont take your LARGE income away if he catches you.

Even though I can’t imagine that Google could care less about a few mistaken clicks on my own ads I'll have to admit when my ads disappeared the other day I had a moment of sheer panic. Sure was nice to come here and find that it was happening all around. ;)

Tony: I think it is up to you. If it makes you feel better to be proactive you should. I personally wouldn't. Not for one click.

I appreciate the person in another message thread who explained I can just click on 'Ads by Google' and get the urls for the ads shown. A quick copy and paste and I can check the ads worry free.

I wouldn't worry about it. Obviously the more times you click it the worse it is but everybody's clicked on the ads before.

I accidentally clicked a couple trying to copy and paste the URL from the ad. I also accidentally clicked on a couple that looked sooo interesting that I just plumb forgot I was on my site.

I was pulled up for one click before. But I hear they're more relaxed now.

I'd just drop a short message stating what happened. Did it before, got a canned response, at least provides some peace of mind as opposed to check your account now all five minutes in fear of being kicked...

Tony,

You don't have anything to worry about. If they ask, plead your case. Otherwise click on the "google" text, tell them you clicked by accident and just wanted to send an FYI.

Personally if they find you abusing the system they will come after you.

AND, i live in PA, you bet your life if you get pulled over by the state troopers that YOU WILL LOOSE a significant amount of income from fees to lost work to having to take days off to do the stupid things you have to do when getting a ticket :)

It's happened to me before by accident, caught the corner without meaning to. I wouldn't bother them with something like that, they have far more important things to worry about.

If you click on ads regularly, you'll get tossed. One accidental click is not going to get you removed from the program.

You know, I contact AdSense about everything. If I have to put up with this crap (my worrying about loosing my account) they have to put up with this crap (me overloading their support team with stupid emails).

I reported to them when I clicked on an ad. And related to a "fradulent clicks" notification I once got (months prior to me ever clicking an ad) which directly corresponded to a time period when I added a large volume of new pages to my Adsense inventory, I tell them when I add large numbers of pages and when I remove large numbers of pages from their program.

Gee ... I have clicked on ads before because *I* was interested in seeing what the advertiser was selling. In fact, some of the advertisers on our sites have stuff we want to buy! So heck, they are advertising to us as well. We're customers also.

Maybe so, but why invite trouble? It's easy enough to visit the advertiser's site without clicking on the ad.

I think this is all down to the individual here, some want to report it to stop themselves worrying day & night, and some just put it down to experience and make sure the mouse is nowhere the Ads again, well.... for a short while at least, & accidents do happen.

However like Broadway (BTW welcome to WW) has said when he added code to a large number of pages he informed the Adsense Team of this.

I also contacted the Team, because 1 traffic & impressions are up because of the recent updates in the SE world, and 2 lots of our new pages have started to rank well in the serps, which has seen a noticeable increase in all areas of the program, (rubbing his hands together ....) and while i enjoyed seeing our work paying off in more ways than one, i thought it wise to inform Adsense of this and to also forewarn them that the site is being translated and expect to see code added to a large number of pages, and there will be yet again in short space of time another very noticeable increase in traffic-impressions & hopefully earnings..........well here's hoping and that's the plan ahahah.
