Google's Adsense Advert Reveals Potential Earnings

For anyone who wants to know how much adsense can earn.

[services.google.com...]

About 3/4 of the way through this tour of adsense it shows a sample adsense report. The earnings column seems about right but the click-thru and page impressions columns seem very low in comparison. I know there are some niches which can earn .45c per click but surely they wouldn't be the norm?

Mario

I run two accounts (with permission from Google)

One has many thousand of pages and gets a very low click through with very low CPM.

The other, which targets a different market sector gets less than fortieth the traffic, but earns 20% more money in total,

It really does depend on the market sector.

What a heap of bollocks that advert is. For one, anyone getting 80 bucks a day from 5,000 PI would be banned faster than you can say "Google don't tell you why".

Very "American" advert. Found it hilariously mushy and false.

I disagree. For a site with the right topic and audience, revenue of US $80 per 5,000 impressions wouldn't be out of line.

You're right, not the norm for us. It's to low.

I agree with you EFV. For a site with the right topic and audience, revenue of US $80 per 5,000 impressions isn't at all out of line.

I noticed the same thing. I assumed they just used a high paying example. After all it is an ad to get people interested in adsense.

I'd be interested in hearing if some of you here really do get that high a return on impressions.

There are several topics that will earn you several x more then that per 5,000 impressions.

I agree with markus007, you just need to chose the right topics.

anyone can check to see what people pay for adwords by visiting the adwords page and click on "click here to begin" You can then use this information to get a general idea of what to expect from adsense

For example, according to Adwords

keyword, cpc

books $0.91
music $0.67
videos $1.04
Law $1.34
Medical$2.23
Viagra $5.16
Web Hosting $11.36

There are people who are earning over $100 per day with about 500 page views (yes, five hundred). Many people receive a 10%, 20% and even 30% click through. I am nearly getting sick and tired of people who don't earn anything being so darn skeptical. I even know of some who have earned between $5-$15 per click in the early days. I believe it still happens now, I just don't have first hand proof. But I do believe...

Yup. I don't get as much traffic as the person in the ad does, but my CTR is higher. I average about $30 per 1k impressions.

Jebus

it would be nice if the earnings per click for one of those categories was anywhere near those levels.

true, but at least you can see you will get a higher $/click for web hosting then for music

I guess its okay to promote the *potential* of the program but I still think the majority of sites would fall far short of it.

Nevertheless its still far and away the best source of income for the rest of us non-sleazy publishers. ;-)

Sometimes Google IS the best source of income to not be considered sleezy....

Come on guys, you don't have to have information on "sleazy" stuff to make good money with Adsense. I provide my visitors with articles on something that is interesting to me and also is about products that sell for $5,000 so of course bids will be higher than on a product that sells for twenty bucks.

I'm dubious about that coffee site in the Google spiel getting 45/c average though, heh.

I guess you do not want to believe all you read in Google Ads. Out of interest I looked up the coffee web site featured, to see what they were doing.

According to fount of all wisdom:-

"Sorry, no information is available for the URL www.nicolabrennancoffee.com" ;)

Having said that Google do not actually say that this is the web site with the earnings figures given, which look to me quite reasonable

The coffee site is obviously a demo site, so the numbers don't have to be accurate--they merely need to be within the realm of possibility. (The presentation isn't about numbers; it's intended to demonstrate the AdSense concept and the mechanics of the program.)

Wow, I love this forum. I had been bummed out for the past couple of weeks thinking that Adsense would only pay off if I had about 500,000 impressions a day. Reading through this I realize that there is a lot of potential in this program if you "do your homework".

I am trying to find out the CPC on different subject matters according to a post in this thread but can't seem to get there. Can someone offer a little more assistance please?

Well its only the hot topics that everyone is looking for.
ealrier i has something on my mind that beauty and cosmetics would earn more, but to my surprize they only fetch around 10 cents to 50 cents

lol and i had been making more than 2000 pages on beauty and skincare.

now as i did some hard work, i have found a few areas that can ern more, one is technology, other is medical, and other is web hosting cause lot of ppl are paying more than $ 5 for ads to be in top slot.

well i would appreciate if people could share their secrets about the keywords that fetch the most.
but i think no one would like to share his chunk of dollars with me.

lol, lets hope everyone finds better cpc and advertisers are also happy with adsense.

have a great time.

My biggest problem has been Google itself. I have the content, but Google's spiders have serious problems crawling it. Now if only Yahoo had a program like it, I would leave them in a heartbeet.
