One more google adsense units on each page

Just saw on google adsense TOS that you may place one more google adsense units on each page. I am wondering if anyone has any experience with this? Will this be of any help to CTR or something like that? How could google calculate the impression?

According to new Google TOS, (it seems) you may display multi ad units in one page (in the same format). However. you must make sure no duplicate ads in the same page.

Sorry not to have cleared this up sooner - I was caught away from my computer!

The multiple ads language is confusing, I agree. At this point, there's no way to assure that ads won't be double-served if two layouts are on the same page. So multiple ad layouts on a page are still not allowed... I think the language is there so that we have room to introduce new features as we move forward.

I'll make sure to stay near my computer, in case you have more questions :)

I should have used the term 'ad units' to be consistent - you can have only a single ad unit per page, irrelevant of which format you use. So, either one leaderboard, or one inline rectangle, etc... You can't have multiple pieces of ad layout code on the same page.

All to say, nothing has changed from yesterday, with regards to this issue :)

Perhaps a new adsense box where we can choose our advertisers *speculates wildly*

The FAQ's would certainly lead one to think different.

The question asks if one can display more than one set of AdSense ads on one page. The answer implies a 'yes' with the 'no' being somewhat ambiguous.

Let me state an analogy:

"Can I read the newspaper?"

You may read the newspaper, but each each newspaper must only have one ad.

Since I can't know if the newspaper has an ad without reading it, I'm left scratching my head.

Next time you update the TOS rules, increase it from the new $1.00 requirement for the yearly check to $20.00. It'll save you and the proccessing center a ton of time not having to make the thousands of tiny checks. psst, delete inactive accounts every six months! No click for six months and your gone.

Jesse_Smith, increasing the minimum for payment from $1 to $20 is a reasonable suggestion, but do you really think there are thousands of publishers that will abandon AdSense before accumulating a measly $1 in earnings before year end?

Did this just change or am I seeing things. Now it says that if you run Google ads through another network you can run adwords in addition to them. It still has the thing about the ads in common with other ad units but I think they are making thinks clearer. Again, how do we make sure we dont get the same ads which the advisior says is not possible. Yay, decent fastclick checks again. Maybe?

That is my question, too - does the new rule leave room for publishers to run both Fastclick's Adsense ads and regular Adsense?

I am wanting to experiment with the new Adsense ad sizes, but I can't stop running Fastclick CPM Adsense ads because so far they actually match my content far better than regular Adsense does, and I make much more money with them. It would be great to have the ability to run both.

Google said that they are always watching every pages that display adsense ad, whenever they find any problem, they will write email to the publish.

I saw someone display two different sizes of adsense ad on single page, the site is still working, so I thought two more adsense ad units might be allowed. But we need the authorized answer for this.

I guess my biggest question would be why google bothered to write in three different places that you can use "multiple" ad units per page, and even went to the trouble of asking the question "can you do this" and then replied with "Yes you can," if what they meant is no you can't. If it's still one ad per page, why not keep the terms in place so as not to confuse webmasters? I think it's inconsiderate.

I've written to them about it and it has been five days, no reply. I've never had to wait this long for Adsense support to reply and it's frustrating.

If anyone has written to adsense and asked for clarification, please let me know what Google's response was. I've gotten no word from them.

I recently had an email warning about running 2 sets of units on some pages because I read the TOS as allowing just that...although as someone said you can't control the possiblity of duplicate ads.

However, the email contained one crucial comment, which would be handy to have said somewhere in the TOS, even if it is temporarily to allow for developments.

It said I can only have one instance of the code on a webpage. Now that I can understand very clearly.

Gotcha. Would be nice to be able to run two of those banners with 2 ads each. It's still less ads than the skyscraper which has 5, and I can incorporate them nicelly into my search results, about 1 third and 2 thirds of the way down.
