Strangest Adsense ad you've had?

Have you noticed any ads on your site that made you read twice to make sure you had read it right? On one of my links pages, I have a link to a colon information site. All the ads on that page have targeted that link. Today, happened to notice: Arise and Shine Herbal Prod.

Not sure exactly what a herbal prod is, but it evoked some imagery:P

I had one show up for adult webhosting. Don't know how that one managed to slip through the cracks, since all ads are supposed to be checked to ensure they are "family safe" before being used on any content sites.

I use the skyscraper ads and I had all 4 of the ads about record players. My site has nothing at all related to records, music or anything else that could be related to record players.

I've got ads for toilet partitions in an article on Amsterdam's airport (where I happen to mention toilet facilities) and a story on Venice's public toilets. The latter also has an ad that's selling automated cleaners for toilets and urinals.

I have an article on non-coercive parenting that consistently showed ads for luggage (until I pulled Adsense from that page).

In the article, I mention eating Doritos from individual snack bags.

Maybe Google thinks Samsonite, Travelpro, and Louis Vuitton have gone into the snack-food packaging business?

Or maybe AdSense should still be in beta, like Froogle. :-)

I usually only have one of these, but they tend to go away after Google actually spiders the page.
Actually, I'm glad to see that somebody else has them, since it first appeared after I added one page titled Strawberry Fields.

The movie My Big Fat Greek Wedding is mentioned once in an article. The page is filled with ads about wedding preparations and Greek dating. Go figure...

I had several for religious cults, including one from a man claiming to be Jesus. And my site isn't even about religion!

Have a page listing funeral poems, Google starting showing ads for Washing Machines, so we took it off the page.

ROFL. If I saw that, I would probably have to throw the TOS out of the window and click on the ad to see what it was all about. Makes for a good reference on Google's client list, I suppose.

Great thread.

I had an advert for lamb placenta once. It was on a page that had wallpapers of sheep.

I'm seeing ads for a "vaccine injury" lawyer on a travelers' information press release from the U.S. government's Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

My turn today (grr). I saw dating service ads (4 for 4) on my page on hte topic of home construction. I can't even find the most tenuous link to dating.

Well, pretty soon dating leads to marrying, marrying leads to settling down and before you know it, you need to build a new home.... :)

lol, I guess it all makes sense now. I'm confident that's what the AdSense team will say when they reply to my email, too. :D
