Hi,

Im fairly new to adsense but i know enough!
The thing is i have a proxy website that gets around 200 hits a day and i have google adsense code on the index page only. I know it gets the hits as i have a statcounter.com account so its accurate! Now that thing that confuses me is when i log into my adsense account it says the ads are only getting 20-25 impressions a day?!

My pages are not framed etc as far as i know.

Any suggestions to whats going on?

Thanks for the help in advance

While unlikely, perhaps most of your visitors have ad blockers.

Another possibility is that Google can't find any relevant ads 90% of the time. If this were true, it would explain your stats.

Or your site is being visited by users using proxies and the traffic is not considered valid.

Or much of your traffic is due to web spiders.

Or your stats are not as accurate as you think.

Or you are confusing "hits" and page views.

Hi,
my website is <removed> if you want to take a look, im getting the ads all the time so there are allways loads on display. It wont be spiders as the website is not indexed in search engines and i dont want it to be and i dont need it to be, i get my traffic elsewhere. I do have a counter for page loads but im getting over 100 uniques a day! They may be visiting me through a proxy anyway as the majority of my website users are from school etc.

Still very strange?

Have you examined your logs to see who these visitors are? You might be surprised :)

When it's counting "hits", is it counting page requests or file requests? Officially a hit is a file request so a page with say 4 images will generate 5 hits (one for .htm and one for each image) per visitor.

Also even though you don't want bots, you could still be getting them - either search engine type or spambots for example which won't as mentioned run the j/script.

Edit: If your "website" gets 200 hits, but Adsense is only on the front page, it could just be that the other pages are getting more of the traffic? Not everyone goes to the first page.

Also 200 hits even if it means page requests would account for this difference without bots.
