My Wishlist from Santa Goog (aka ASA)
1. Bigger blocking list, e.g. 500 entries, or even better: unlimited
2. Ability to block ads by advertiser (not just by domain)
3. Ability to set minimum price for ads to appear
4. Improved statistics
- Which advertisers have been displayed how often
- Which ads have been clicked on which pages
- Accurate statistics with timestamp ("data correct as of...")
- Which clicks have paid how much (it's a wishlist, right)
5. Improved Preview Tool
- Show ads that actually will display (not just ads that might display)
- Show all ads that actually will display (not just limited to a sample of 12)
- Show more ads of a given advertiser that will appear on my site(s)
- Ability to remove countries from preview tool (so you can focus on your core markets)
6. Ability to restrict ads to show up on whitelisted domains only
7. Ability to earn from links to Google Maps
> 6. Ability to restrict ads to show up on whitelisted domains only
Is this the same thing as being able to register YOUR domains (as opposed to any site that might use your code) with AdSense? If so, that's something I and others have asked about since last year - it'd be nice if AdSense would do that, not sure why they don't.
Now, since I don't particularly want to restrict my own income (like by restricting an entire AOL proxy or some such) and they already allow us some measure of control by blocking ads from our sites, I don't understand why they don't think we can be trusted not to block the rest of the world from clicking on our ads.

<edit by me>
Just thought of something...if they gave us unlimited blocking that would force them to be more disciminating about what ads they accepted, more work for them and possibly less money or they would have to raise their prices.
While that would be good for us it could cause them to lose ad share to other companies...case of dam*ned if you do or dam*ned if you don't
I'd like to see blocking by advertiser for sure, an effective way of managing the block list, smart pricing by site - not account and Google to reaslise that us webmasters know more about our site than they ever will, and allow us more input into the decision of what ads show. Specifically allow us to choose cpc or cpm banners, in addition to the other lists in the thread.
I asked them that once, and got an email reply to the effect because IPs can be allocated from various sources (I assume they mean dynamic IPs) and that because of it valid clicks might be blocked, it woudln't be possible.
It's not just dynamic IPs. IP blocks can be transferred between organizations due to mergers, acquisitions, etc. So you (or they) would have to constantly monitor who the "holder" of an IP block is to determine whether the decision to filter it or not needs to be revisited.
A much simpler solution to the same problem would just let us state, per site, key words that we wanted to exclude.
That doesn't get ad targeting to where I'd like to see it. We'd all like to know which specific ads are generating the most revenue, right? Well Google has that information. But my understanding is that they aren't using it to customize the ads on a per site (or better yet per page) basis.
Say you have a page about "red widgets". What Google knows is that ads X, Y, and Z perform the best for the that term across the AdSense network. That doesn't mean ads X, Y, and Z perform best on your specific site. Instead of Google trying to make a best guess at which ads will work best for "red widgets", they could go off actual past results for your site--they have that data.
So in the beginning you'd see a random bunch of ads related somehow to red widgets and then over the course of several weeks Google would learn which of those work best for your specific audience, and would eliminate the poorly performing ones. All automated, isn't that the Google way?
Maybe I'm totally off the mark and they're doing something like this already, but that wasn't my understanding.
include 'http://www.google.com/adsense/include.php';
In other words, Google would host the include file. This file will have various functions for displaying the ad units, so in your PHP script you might display an ad unit by calling the right function, i.e. display160x600();
That would be sweet.
My competitors advertise on my site and I can't block them because I don't know who they are. They geotarget so I can't see their ads, but other people can.
I just need to see a list of all the ads that get displayed on a given URL, I'm sure google can see it and I don't see how it would hurt anything to let me see it too.
1) As it is now, a list of blocked domains. This is for legitimate, but competing, businesses that we don't wish to have on our sites.
2) A list of blocked domains that would then result in blocking all ads on my sites from the advertisers who manage those domains. This is for advertisers whom we consider to be engaged in inappropriate business practices, including MFA, e-mail harvesters, scam "give-aways" and other fly-by-night stuff that gives AdSense and the publishers who participate a bad name.
If an advertiser is placed on enough publishers' second block lists, it should be subject to some sort of "reverse smart pricing" penalty, requiring it to pay *more* per click to move up in ad placement position across all its campaigns.

I have been asking the same thig for over a year....
4degrees:
include 'http://www.google.com/adsense/include.php';
Eek!
So, you want Google's code to be run on your server?
What else? Give them the keys of your car?
1. More channels.
At least, many more active URL channels for testing and tracking at a page level. In my opinion, this would be the most effective way to increase revenue for publishers, advertisers and Google.
For example, Chitika's limit is 1000 active channels per account. Surely Google has enough technical resources to do the same. ;)
Thank you very much for considering it.
But a wishlist - I can understand the concept behind the idea of adsense to better benefit legitmate sites and increase adword advertisers confidence in the system.
1. GPS - Google Publisher Service
The GPS would enable adsense publishers to list X amount of sites they suspect of breaking the adsense terms and conditions. This would be reported to Adsense Managers workload although it would give them definate suspect leads to catch rogue adsense users instead of their current role of reviewing sites to check for adherance. It would work because ALL legit adsense publishers would certainly report any suspicious sites quickly so as to improve their own sites chances of gaining valid clicks.
2. GAPS - Google Adsense Publisher Support - named because it plugs the gaps left when you cant support someone who has a quality site :P
Description:
Are you an adsense publisher and discovered another website that offered interesting content to you that was displaying ads by google and you felt like clicking on the advert to support the webmaster? (Obviously you do not click because it would be clickfraud by means of wellwishing without interest in the target website itself).
Simply use our GAPS feature in your adsense publisher account and insert the url of the page you found to be of interest.
Enter the amount of donation that you would like to transfer to this webmaster and we will do the rest.
The donation amount will be subtracted from your next cleared payment before it is mailed to you and you will receive an email to confirm this has been done.
3. White Listed domains as stated before do seem appeal
4. Webmasters of websites to be able to override advert displays if google continues to display inappropriate adverts to content.... some websites are designed for People NOT google analytics. This would help ensure the desired targeted ads would come up instead of irrelevant adverts which would generate little to no interest from the website users.
I want my visitors to find my ads useful and not just be something that tricks people into clicking.
Maybe there needs to be two sets of advertisers and publishers. Let real content sites get real ads related to their topic.
Let the made for adsense ads go only on MFA sites.
