Hey everyone,

These 2-3 days I see my CTR dropped about 25 percent.

Do you see the same thing? Nothing has changed on our end, but the only thing is the wide PR update. After few days as it stabilizes and ADsense crawls all of my pages, it will return to normal, but do you see the same thing?

Thanks.

How do you know your PR was updated? The PR that shows in the Google Toolbar is from last year or so. But Google always uses the current PR (which only google knows) to determine how often to spider our sites.

CTR dropped for me too. Around the same time as well, but how can we be sure that PR update is the cause?

I noticed a downward change as well, however I feel spring break/fever may have something to do with it..

What I can never understand is how my PageViews for a certain day as listed on my Adsense reports can be lower than my Webstats' listing of my total unique visitors for that day?

Something is not right with Adsense, and I fear that if they are missing PageViews, then they are probably missing clicks. My numbers are down in the abyss for April, and I'm ready to can Adsense right now.

If this crap continues, AND, if a viable alternative ever equals or exceeds, then Adsense will be a gonner. It sounds like there are quite a few people out here in the last few months who are getting fed up with Adsense's performance.....I AM!

It's actually very easy to explain. Clients that don't support javascript (Googlebot, other crawlers and some users) won't load adsense code and hence adsense can't register these pageviews.

I just don't understand this. Why would PR affect CTR?

A PR update might come with an over haul in google's inner system, meaning they might put in a small change in algo and they also redid the pr.

Another reason impressions might be down in AS is if they are displaying Public Service Ads; these don't count on the stats I believe.

Cheers people on the PR update notification; just checked - yesterday, I had pr0, and today I have pr6 :-)

Nearly same here.
As I returned Saturday from an AdSense content creation journey, I was schocked by PR0.

It's all so artificial.

When somebody comes home and sees his home 5 meter under water, he know, he has a problem.

But so, is it a problem, or is it a database error?

Yesterday again PR5

Also I noticed a lower CTR and a little higher EPC
in the last days

I'm seeing the same thing. My CT is consistently in the 12-13% range. I mean VERY consistently. For the past three days by CTR has dropped to around 10% but my PPC has gone up slightly. The same ads are running on my site so I'm not sure why the CTR would suddenly drop, nor why the PPC would go up.

I don't think it is related to PR changes.

I have noticed slightly lower ctr and earnings today. This seems to be going back and forth over the last few days. I can't figure out if it is just there have been ads that are less interesting to my viewers or maybe ads they have seen to often on my sites or other sites.
