1 Page Impression. 2 Clicks. How is it possible?

Hello,

I just logged into an AdSense account that I had kind of forgotten about by accident. I noticed today that I had an astounding ONE page impression on one of my sites that I had thought I converted over to my new adsense account (apparantely not all the code...)

Anyway, I had 1 Page impression, and 2 clicks. A ridiculously high CPM... How is this even possible? I know that I'll never see the whoppin 52 cents that I accumulated on there today... however I'm interested if anyone else has seen this happen, and more importantly - how to make it happen again?

Quick note - sticky me for a screen shot if there are some unbelievers out there... ;-)

If a user holds the shift button and clicks on an ad, the ad opens in a new window. So if they click on 2 ads, that's 2 clicks off of 1 impression.

That's just one way it could happen. I'm sure there's others.

The back button being one.

For some reason I'd imagine the back button still giving off 2 impressions. I use the back button browsing through sites a lot, and on sites with adsense I'll see a different set of ads from the first ones when I click on the back button

I also believe that google would be smart enough to not allow a back-button to reload the exact same code, i.e. count only as only one impression...

or ads open in a new tab.

Yes, quite often at the start of a new day.

It's happened to me a few times at the start of the day. The page impression happens before midnight for instance but the click happens after midnight.

i open links in a new window all the time, if i'm on IE. there's an option in firefox that makes links automatically open in a new tab as well.

anyone who does that could easily click on a couple of ads.

Opera doesn't "reload" the page wheen you press the Back button. So Google can't count another impression, because a local cache is displayed.
