Mambot & Adsense

New to mambots ..need help please!

Hello

I've just takon on an established website with Joomla.

It has facilities to run adsense in Mambots but I am getting this error message:

Warning: file_get_contents(/mounted-storage/home6/sub003/sc13348-WRMZ/uksecuritydirectory/www/mambots/content/bot_adsense.xml): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /mounted-storage/home6/sub003/sc13348-WRMZ/uksecuritydirectory/www/includes/domit/xml_domit_lite_parser.php on line 1066

Can anyone offer any insight?

Check the file permissions on the file that is being requested (bot_adsense.xml)

Thanks for that...but I haven't got a clue about fie permissions ... in fact I haven't got a clue!

try forum.joomla.org

It looks like a servage account you have - you can set permissions in the online file manager in you controlpanel at servage.net

do a chmod in you www folder by pressing the small icon next to the red "X" and set file permissions to 755 and choose recursive.

But I don't know if this is what causes your error - else try the forum I posted...

you have to install mambot, not copy files via FTP. go to your administration area, and then choose mambots - install mambot and select your zip file (adsensemambot).

I the administratin area, I've clicked on the 'mambots' link, and then the 'site mambots'

Mambots Manager [site] is open. 4th down is google adsense mambot- it is 'published'.

Should I be seeing something else?

peewhy, try this:
go to administration > site > server > file permission, then check chmod new files to 777 by checking all the bottons including existing files. Do this with directory permission also. Try it if it will work, then put it back to its default.

you can choose auto show (it'll show on the top or bottom on every content of your page, note:not every page, just content pages). or you may call adsense code by {mosgoogle} if you haven't set AUTO ads. take care to change pub-******** number in adsense mambots options.

I only have access to the joomla! control panel. I've ask the person that originally owned the site, he replied "I’ve checked the permissions of the www directory and its 755 as a standard"

Can I add Adsense via the Joomla control panel
www.site.co.uk/administration?

The answer to your question is yes. While I've heard of this mambot, I never used it. I just put my adsense code into a Module instead.

There is only one trick to doing this and that has to do with my editor automatically changing the code on me. What I have to do is paste the code and save - no previewing. If I go back into the module, the editor will automatically "fix" it for me. So I need to undo the "fix" by pasting the code back before saving.

You can do it this way OR you can disable your editor before working on the adsense module.

My workaround is not all that difficult to do. I keep my adsense code in a handy spot. Besides, this is normally one of those "fix and forget" items. I have to admit, I should probably look into the mambot...

This is what I've done, please point me in the direct direction.

I click on 'Mambots' > 'Site Mambots'

Click on Google Adsense Mambot

Paste my adsense code in the window

Check 'published'

Click 'apply'

..........then I get this message

I've been using adsense mambot for sometimes now. The good thing about this mambot is that you can put it anywhere in the article. Once installed and published, all you have to do is insert {mosgoogle right} or left anywhere in the article and you have your adsense blended with the article.

Adsense doesn't automatically instally itself into an article, I need to add tro to each one I publish?

Try unstalling and reinstalling it again, I also had an error when I move my database into different server. I had to uninstall all modules and mambots and reinstalled them again, It worked after that.

After installing, you have to fill the adsense paramaters at the right and publish. You can then put (mosgoogle) anywhere in your articles.

You need to put {mosgoogle right} or {mosgoogle left} or {mosgoogle top}in every article you publish.

I've taken an article, added {mosgoogle top}

clicked 'apply'

Then when I view it simply shows .... {mosgoogle top}!

I've got to be a complete fool or simply missing a trick?

You can put it anywhere in the article. Try (mosgoogle left) or {mosgoogle right}. I should say (mosgoogle center} NOT {mosgoogle top}.

Try putting (mosgoogle right} at the beginning of an article, see if it work. If it still doesn't work I think you have to reinstall your adsense mambot.

I've finally cracked it.

No dmage to computer...close to it!
