How long to activate an Adsense account?

My wife signed up for Adsense on her blog (running on Blogger) three or four days ago and her blog is still showing PSAs. Anyone activate an account recently? How long did it take to be approved?

If she hasn't been accepted yet how in the world did she get in to get the code to show PSA's?

I think maybe someone is pulling our leg.

I applied more than one week ago, and still not accepted. I just sent confirmation email to Adsense Support yesterday, but not yet receiced respose too. May be because of weekend :((

spharalsia,

Ann's question is crucial. Is your wife approved by Adsense or not? If not, where do the PSA's come from?

I have applied 6 days back. Still awaiting acceptance.

Thanks for the responses.

Okay, was she "accepted" -- well, she received an e-mail from Adsense that had her click on a link to complete the verification process, which she did. That's when the PSAs started appearing. (She didn't even have to paste in code, since she's doing this in Blogger.)

It's been a few years since I went through the process, so I don't know whether they still manually review sites or not. I have looked through Adsense Help and see nothing that sheds light on the account approval process.... Maybe the easiest solution is to contact Adsense.

Your wife's account has already been activated. It's likely showing PSAs because the content on your pages aren't relevant enough to any products or services.

No no - when you apply for an adsense account through blogger you instantly get the banner box on your blog with psa's, but you still have to wait untill your account gets appproved before relevant ads start showing up.

I applied through blogger also.

After about 2 weeks with no approval, I contacted AdSense support asking them why it was taking so long.

They approved me immediately after that.

Thanks Crickey and Terpshoops -- that's the feedback I was looking for. I will advise her to e-mail Adsense.

Thanks, everybody, for your help!

Dear terpshoops,
Thanks for email advise. I sent them email and acceptance came within hours.

A followup, just for the record: She e-mailed them and was sent an approval e-mail within the day; three hours after that, her blog started showing adsense ads. So anyone who has the same problem: send an e-mail to Google, and it should resolve.

Thanks for everyone's advice.

Yes, indeed. This worked for me as well. They are very quick to respond by email.
