Source of traffic: paid vs organic

How many of you are getting traffic by paying for clicks at a low price and making a profit on the outgoing clicks?

Myself and my business partner have been working on a few small sites and while we arent getting very much organic traffic right now (not more than $1 or $2 of adsense income per day), we're paying for traffic and making about 500% profit on what we spend. It's still not much and seems to bounce between about $5 and $30 per day on average, but never costs us more than a few dollars to earn that.

It still feels like cheating though. Our paid-for traffic only comes from one source currently, and we're thinking about expanding to other sources as well. I've found that via AdWords we seem to make a loss, I'm not really sure why. We're thinking of trying Miva and maybe AdBrite. I'd be interested if any of you have had any positive experiences from other sources of paid traffic.

You sound like one of the sites that go straight in my filter.

You are just another layer of ads with no real interesting content?

Or a genuin site that people want to visit naturally?

I seem to remember another thread about this (perhaps on a different forum). The poster said that it worked for a while, but within less than a month, the niches where it worked started drying up...

If you've found a legitimate PPC source of inexpensive traffic, good for you. But do not buy cheapo "bulk" traffic, unless you want to see that 500% profit margin to turn into a 100% loss. You will get banned and your earnings will be forfeited.

I would be interested in hearing who you are paying to increase profit by 500%. Could you share or stickymail me?
