Obviously these websites will not get top rankings and they will not generate huge incomes, but it will cost me very little to set them up so it's all good for the time being while I work on other websites.
Will Google Adsense accept such websites? The websites will provide some value over and above the websites that provide the articles originally, in terms of consolidation, classification, search options and, above all, usability.
If Google will penalise them for duplicate content that would probably devalue the domains, which would go against my investment. In the light of these considerations, what is the best thing I can do with these domains, apart from developing them with original content, which is not possible at the moment? Thanks.

If the domains don't get traffic on their own (like from people typing in the exact domain name in the address bar of their browser), then there's not much you can do but minimize your losses by letting the domain names expire when the renewal period comes around again.
Some of these I will develop and then sell as complete websites (domain plus content); other domains relate to profitable industries that I now nothing about, so I either place free reprint articles on them or I put them on the market straight away.
Given that these domains have no PR and that they are going to be sold one day, I guess I may as well make some money off them while I bide my time.
