Problem placing ad link and ad unit on same page

Hello,

I am having a problem with placing an ad link and an ad unit on the same page.

When I place an ad link on a page then place a regular ad unit after it, the ad link shows up fine with links or the ad link search box.

When I place a regular ad unit first and then an ad link after it, the adlink doesn't work. Nothing shows up.

I've tried this on all of my sites and also new blank page and I have the same results.

Any help would be appreciated.

I think you just have to wait a little while until the google bot visits your website.

Yes, give it a couple of days. It should start to show up.

Sorry, I think I should have been more clear.

On any page, If I place the adlink first and then the regular ad unit second, everything works fine, I get links in the adlink box.

If I place a regular ad unit first and then the ad link after it, nothing shows up in the ad link.

So, the adlink works fine when it comes before the regular ad unit on any page, but when i place the adlink second, it doesn't work.

It just seems wierd that if I just move the adlink from before the regular ad unit, where it works fine, to after the regular ad unit on the same page, it stops working.

I have that same problem as well. I want to ad an adlink to the end of my articles but nothing shows except a "search box" thingy. Any suggestions on getting this to work?

Happens to me too. The links do not show at all.

I think I know what the issue is you are having. Google doesn't allow 2 adlink units on the same page. If Google detects 2 adlink units on the same page, the second one wont work.

As I read it, you are only placing 1 adlink and 1 adunit. When the adlink comes first, it works fine, when it comes second, it doesn't work.

What I think is that Google is confusing the adunit with an adlink and is not allowing you to place the adlink after the adunit becuase Google thinks it is 2 adlinks on the same page. When it thinks there is 2 adlinks on the same page the second one wont work.

BTW, I have the same problem

Hmm, that is not going to work on my site. I really don't want adlinks on the top of my page. I think they are more appropriate on the bottom. So the only other option it seems is to take off the ad unit?

On one of my sites, I have the link unit after the ad unit and it works fine.

If you need to, you can fake-out AS to think one ad unit is on top when it's not really, by using tables. I do this on my sites to cause Adsense (and Google proper) to read my body content first before my left-nav, rather than reading it normally from left to right.

(The table-makeup for this is slightly cornfusing, anyone who wants to do this, sticky me...)

By ad unit Are you referring to the search box?

Something is not right for sure..
There is enough content on those pages because regular ad units work well when they are alone. My problem is to have one adlink and one ad unit to work together. I've tried many things but had no luck. It really drives me crazy..

I've had a similar situation, where adlinks did not display but a regular ad unit did display. In my case, it was a page that showed a lot of diverse information (upcoming events in a geographic area). I believe that having a page too diverse in keywords caused ad units not to display.

Once I cut down on the amount of page content, the adlinks came back.

Hope this helps.
