I'm involved with a large site that has a lot more than 10,000 visitors a week, and because of what I mentioned above, they don't get the CTR rates that other sites get.
You maybe better off with another advertising program, one that pays you to run specific banners. That is what the site I have worked with eventually did.
People will pay for impressions alone, especially if you are starting off with a decent sized audience.
Think of it like a billboard by the side of a road. You have potential, but AS may not be right for you.

I would focus more on affiliates like Amazon and alike (books ,dvd's collectibles etc. ) vs. adsense. You can target products better and make more $ IMO.
Not exactly targeted. And what keywords are people using to reach your site? They might not be interested in buying DVDs (which came up for some shows) so there's no reason to click the ads. If they do want DVDs, though, I'd use Amazon ads instead.
