10,000 visitors weekly, 20 clicks

is something wrong

I get about 10,000+ visitors weekly but only get about 20 clicks. The colors match my template, and are in all my sidbars, and the top of the page. I have about 50 pages, and 1 main page. The links are targeted. Am i doing something wrong?

At first glance it does seem quite low.

We would need to know a few things such as the genre you are dealing with to really come up conclusions.

I would suggest experimenting with different adtypes colors to help increase results.

Your name coule mean, You have a site about television program, stars and so.

This sort of pages have a very low CTR.

But even for this sort of page 10.000 visitors should be several times more clicks.

It's possible. I had close to 900,000 impressions yesterday and little over 3000 clicks. So my stats are even worse then yours.

Televisiontalk... we would have to know more about your niche/target audience. Those CTR numbers do seem low.

Your numbers seem low, but if you are running a news aggregate type of site, where you are compiling news about specific niches, it could be that people are exiting your site to other sites (i.e. you carry a lot of excerpts with links to articles on other sites) and then clicking on ads downstream.

I'm involved with a large site that has a lot more than 10,000 visitors a week, and because of what I mentioned above, they don't get the CTR rates that other sites get.

You maybe better off with another advertising program, one that pays you to run specific banners. That is what the site I have worked with eventually did.

People will pay for impressions alone, especially if you are starting off with a decent sized audience.

Think of it like a billboard by the side of a road. You have potential, but AS may not be right for you.

My site is about television....kind of like AOL television with a site for each show. I get targeted advertisements but only get a couple of clicks a day. If you could look at it yourself.... <snip> and tell me if i am doing anything wrong...

Your text is pretty light, so the targeting of your ads will be off. You're going to have some wierd ads anyway with a TV site like this and pay off won't be much. The mtv pages for "Punk'd", I saw a G Ad for Food and Wine reviews.

I would focus more on affiliates like Amazon and alike (books ,dvd's collectibles etc. ) vs. adsense. You can target products better and make more $ IMO.

On your site, I see an ad for a hit counter and "how news is reported" at CBS.

Not exactly topics that make me want to click-through, eh?

Poor ads = few clicks. :-)

Did you guys look at the individual sites on the right sidbar? Those sites is where i get the most traffic, and they seem pretty targeted.

Not exactly targeted. And what keywords are people using to reach your site? They might not be interested in buying DVDs (which came up for some shows) so there's no reason to click the ads. If they do want DVDs, though, I'd use Amazon ads instead.
