Are Google visitors less likely to click on adsense ads?

During 2005, Google wasn’t a huge fan of my new site bringing in around 50 unique visitors per month. My main SE traffic was from Yahoo and MSN, which has stayed pretty much the same.

Since January this year, Googles decided that it now likes my site and I now have around 500 unique visitors per month (From Google) - yet the number of Adsense clicks seems to be around the same level as always.

Do you think Google users are less likely to click on Adsense ads or is it just a coincidence? Unfortunately, I only have just over a months worth of data to analyse but I’d like to know your thoughts on this.

I get higher CTRs when Yahoo is my main source of SE referrals. My logic says that Google users have just come from a search page with adverts related to that phrase already on them. If they were going to click on an advert then some would have already done so rather than click through to my page and hit on the same adverts.

But, it could be that the more users you get, the less targetted those users are and so less interested in the ads.

Sorry to bring up this thread again.

I've spent the last couple of weeks looking over my logs and seems that the users coming to my site are doing so using relevant search terms and my traffic from Google is still increasing but STILL the number of visitors clicking adsense ads remains around the same :/

The ads on my site are still relevant to the page content so I'm not sure whats going on.

Any other ideas/suggestions?

FYI, my Google traffic for February has increased by 92%, I take I'm out of the sandbox? :)

In my experience over the last few year, I see no differences between click through rates between any of the major search engines. I do not care which search engine brings the traffic, as long as it keeps coming. My evidence comes when I see major drops in search engine referrals, yet my click through rate remains steady.
