I'm considering turning that option off to see if the ads would blend better with the content and increase the click-throughs. I wonder if people see the word "advertise" everywhere and start ignoring the ads.
I'll report if I notice anything significant.
I've been noticing that pattern for the past few days. I just replaced the public service announcements with an alternate color that matches my page. At least that way, it will blend in. My eCPM is down due to all of those public service announcements showing up.
I emailed Google about being able to separate site or even channels ("Advertise on this page, yes, this one, this exact page you're looking at now"), which I think would be great, but they didn't seem enthused about the idea.
My main income are theme oriented subdomains from my main domain.
But the themes are very wide, so I think a domain wide advertising makes no sense.
Does "advertise on this site" mean only to make an offer for CPM ads on the whole site?
When it could be at last brought down to folder level, but even there, a fair report can also be thematic wide spread.
