I have two sites. When I visit them no ads are shown but the reports show that there are many impressions and click throughs each day.

I have a conspiracy theory that G detects your IP address when you log into your Adsense account and then blocks that address from viewing ads when sites associated with the account are visited!

It's strange. It's happening on two sites.

And I know who really shot Kennedy..

Check your hosts file. I had the same problem when I first started with adsense. A nasty little spyware program had altered it.

Might not be what's wrong with your machine, in fact there might not be anything wrong at all, but it's worth a look.

Yes, the hosts file!

I downloaded a spyware / ads blocking hosts file last week. It's huge. Just checked and it does block adsense.

Will delete those entries asap.

Unless I misunderstand, there are a whole bunch of people here who
would PREFER that AdSense ads NOT appear on their screens to avoid accidental clicks.

I must be missing something [burp!] -Larry

1. That is so ironic, you use the same spyware hosts file that could prevent all your visitors from clicking ads on your site, thus eliminating your potential revenue (in their case)

2. Those who prefer not to see the ads on their own page (webmasters) are presumably those who have no interest in analising/monitoring what is happening on their site re: Adsense?

miguelito,

The blocking hosts file is on my browsing pc. It is only this pc which I chose to block spyware / ads sites.

larryhatch, that's a good point. I read on another thread that some guy's girlfriend clicked on his ads to cheer him up. She sounds as if her host file needs something like:

www*.* 127.0.0.1

:)

I was having the same problem with not seeing my ads and this is what you do. locate your host file and make sure u have a backup or u are in hotwater lol

This is what i was told to do and it worked. This is a email from Google.

thank you for following up. We can view ads on your site from our end,
which leads us to suspect that the problem may be local to your machine.

There are a couple more things you can try. Please note that these
suggestions involve altering important files within your computer. Please
be cautious when proceeding

First, you may want to check your hosts file which is usually located at
C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts . Sometimes 3rd party software
alters this file. If any of the following entries are present, please
delete them.

# [Google Inc][Restricted Zone site]
127.0.0.1 adwords.google.com
127.0.0.1 pagead.googlesyndication.com
127.0.0.1 pagead2.googlesyndication.com
127.0.0.1 adservices.google.com
127.0.0.1 www.googleadservices.com

If this doesn't work, there is a chance you will need to re-register the
following file in your computer's registry. To do so:

- Click Start -> Run
- Type in regsvr32 jscript.dll and press enter

I did all of this and it was up and working!... to locate the phrases faster i did a search. Hit view and search. Make sure its exactly what is here to remove.
Goodluck!
