A lot of us started with 1 site, making pennies a day. But with a good, quality website; constant updated content; SEO techniques; and good Google ad placement... (or any other ad for that matter)...many sites can hit $$$$.
If you keep it up, it's just a matter of time.
I've created a professional looking site, using just one skyscraper. I have 180 pages indexed by Google.
But, I'm stuck in the Google sandbox for the main keyword, and I'm not getting the traffic I deserve. My eCPM is over $20, but I'm only achieving around $3.50 on average per day.
Still, I'm persisting and confident that my effort will pay off, one day.
First month made the minimum payment, and have had an income every month since. I won't say how much I earn, but last year I took the family to Crete for a two week holiday, and also a week away in Wales. We are going to EuroDisney (or whatever it's called this week) in April, and hopefully to Corfu later in the year. We are also in the position whereby my wife doesn't have to work. Just as well in a way, as finding a job that fits in with a young family is not easy.
I started adsense after seeing some guy make $500 from a pretty poor blog in a year and i thought i'd have some of that, i was sure I could make that amount, even a bit more.
I'm close to earning the earlier figure per month. Treated myself to a Rolex submariner a couple of weeks ago.
I had some affiliate websites that ranked well and knew nothing about adsense. I started reading up on it and gave it a try this past April.
When I first started I didn't make enough the first month to have a check cut. I was reading all the messages here and some were saying they made $10,000 a month. I could only dream about that much money.
Dreams do come true...almost I am now waiting for my December check which is over $7,000 Unbelievable.
January is not looking very good. I lost some of my rankings but I'll just start dreaming again :-)
If it happened for me, it can happen for you. I have quite a few websites covering all kinds of subjects. Like the earlier posting said. Find something that interest you and work with that subject. It will be more rewarding and interesting for you.
Good Luck!
I an ecom site that doesnt do much business so I put it on there and added some content- Things just took off.
Ive now started building content sites that may work well with adsense. Im around half way to my target level of earnings so my current level of income is 50 times my first months money.
Looked at like that its going to be easy making the leap up.
Justa point to note, I have never written pages of my own always used other authors to complete original work.
I started with Adsens in September 2005 and already had some running affiliate sites which did their job.
After 2 years of self-education I now use the Adwords/Adsense system to create a income. My target is a return of investment of minimal 300%. Positive thing is the 'instant' money you will get if the campagnes and sites are build properly. You don't need to rely on free traffic anymore :)
Good Luck to all starters....remember: Keep going, even when it fails...otherwise I quitted already 2 years ago. You can fail 10 times, but eventually you will find your egg!
