my adsense revenue was doing very well but since two or 3 weeks i only get 2 ads instead of 4 in the 336x280 rectangle, it's a disaster for my CTR. Is there a way to force google to display 4 ads?

No. Google says they do this to increase revenue--highlighting the top-earning ads. But as you've experienced it doesn't always work.

You could try a different format. I've noticed that on my site, at least, they don't do this to the wide skyscraper.

I finally just changed all my rectangle ads over to skyscrapers. They don't seem to put just two ads on syscrapers. But of course now that I've converted my whole site they will probably start doing it on them as well.

Actually I was neither making or losing money with the two ad rectangles. But they looked terrible. The ads just jumped out a the viewer. I want to keep my site professional looking.
