Did anyone here have any luck with it? I know there is a guy with a firefox domain who makes a ton, but other than that?
Perhaps it works better on technology-related sites? (my site isn't)
I didn't even bother experimenting with it on my own site. Just more clutter in my own mind.
I'm sure that Google has received some good publicity for their Firefox toolbar from the program at any rate.
I wouldn't be surprised to see the demise of the program in the next few months once it has served its purpose.
I think I saw it posted on here that they have stopped including impressions of the buttons in the stats - thus against you, so that is a positive. However, no plans to try them again.
I wonder if the Google advertising team is forgeting the fundamental premise of adsense - that users would rather bid on ads related to the content they are currently reading.
Google should place normal CPC ads on pages in which browsers are being discussed, simple!
i used to refer tons of users to firefox, for free, and got no benefit from it, apart from a silly useless ranking on the spreadfirefox site.
now i make decent income from the referrals. i am very very *very* happy with that program.
i think you guys just haven't been doing it right.
try this: put up one of those traditional stickers, 88 pixels by 31 pixels, you can get that from the firefox site. stick that on the front page of your site, where people usually put stickers and banners like that.
when the user clicks on that, they get taken not to the firefox site, but to your own little page which you specificaly put up for firefox, which has a little article about how wonderful firefox is (and it really is, compared to IE), plus the google button sitting nonchalantly on the side.
trust me, you will make real cash. unless, of course, all your users are ahead of the curve and already using firefox.
