Hi,

I am a new Adsense publisher and is so excited about joining this great informative forum and Google Adsense. I am an individual from Singapore with web sites hosted in American hosting companies. I do not live in America and I have no employees there in America. I intend to resell extra spaces and bandwidth that I have in my server hosted in America in the future.

I filled in IRS 8233 form which indicates that I am a "foreign individual (for example a U.S. non-resident alien or a non-U.S. individual) with U.S. Activities that are involved with the revenue that has been or will be earned by you pursuant to the Google AdSense Online Program."

I have 3 questions to ask:

(1) Is that the correct form for me to fill in? Because I am not sure whether I should sign up IRS 8233 or "Foreign publisher with no U.S. Activities" form.

(2) What is constituted as US activities? Does hosting my sites at US servers and reselling it to Americans constitute as US activities? (FYI I am not a web hosting reseller yet but intended to be one in the future).

(3) I haven't posted the printed copy of the form to Google yet. Do I have to send this form every year like submitting income tax form?

I greatly appreciate your help as Adsense is very important to me and I do not wish to break any terms and conditions set by Google. I regret that I did not join Adsense earlier because I just discovered that I can earn in one day with Adsense more than what I can earn in 4 years with CJ & Linkshare combined.

Thank you.

The best is to contact IRS. I did it and they confirmed that my operation are wholly non-US.

I live outside the US and was not asked to fill any tax form when I signed up for adsense account.

Hosting websites in the U.S. is not a problem, mostly you will be have no-us activities for tax related matters.

BTW, 1 day in adsense vs 1461 days with CJ&Linkshare?
Aren't you a bit overestimating adsense!? ;)

You need to get with whoever is responsible for Singapore taxes. Even if someone gave you answers here, would you trust those answers? Not that anybody would mislead you or anything... I'm not suggesting that.

You can go to the big house for screwing around with your taxes. They'll put you in a cell next to Big Bubba. You'll get visitation on Monday's and Wednesdays but after 3 or 4 years no one will even come to see you...

Go to the source on this one. I mean get your answers from the professionals.... You'll be glad you did.

Only US publishers worry about the tax. International publishers are not required to fill tax numbers (SIN, SSN, etc)

Hi fischermx,

Half a million impression for CJ = 0.
4000 unique visitors with 8000 page views with Adsense in one day = US$20

I made a very big mistake in not signing up with Adsense earlier, because my site is a low traffic site and I was afraid that I would not be accepted by Google. After seeing the sudden surge in the traffic at my web site in one day and how much I could earn from Google, I am less sceptical about posting by members here who claimed to earn US$100 - US$1000 per day. It is possible.

It seems to me that there are not so many webmasters from Singapore or Malaysia here. So, I think I will resubmit the form as foreign individual with no US activities since having sites hosted in US is not considered as US activities. I hope I will not be banned by Google for this if I made a mistake, because I quitted my job to do this fulltime.
