How long do you spend for adsense a day?

considering how great your network is...

starting with myself.

I haven't started running adsense yet, hence no clue yet.

the question is, how much time do you spend in a day to add content to your site/sites or editing the content.

or maybe better to say do you spend any time on it in a day?

so many different types of sites, so many different answers.

my main site requires abt 1 hour a month and gives me 90% of income
my second site requires abt 1 hour a week and gives me 10% of my income

I spent a couple of hours this month changing ad colors and adding ads to some pages. The sites I have adsense on don't need any maintenance. I've been spending all my time recently on a new site that is not made for adsense (NMFA).

I am continually working to improve my sites.

I read my WebmasterWorld morning newspaper, start at 7:30 am and finish at midnight, with occasional errands, motherly stuff, and housewifely duties. I have been on this schedule since Jan 2003.

The problem is, as I work on the sites, I get better ideas for content, layout, etc. so I'm always changing or fixing something.

I think it would be better if I could just focus on fixing one site, research it, get it linked, get it ranked, etc. and leave it alone. But this hasn't happen, I tend to hop around. I'm a bunny.

We have two people working the sites, we have recently cut back on work hours. We spend only about 50 hours a week each. We used to spent over 100 hours a week each.

But, we too are always adding sites, adding to existing sites, and redecorating.

We did $26k with Adsense, alone, in 2005. That doesn't include other web revenue streams. We are now beginning to work with YPN, more recently. It is our hope to get YPN up to match Adsense in 2006. In our first partial month with YPN we are doing about $300 for one site. It is a start.

well, I spend time on *my* site for *me*, not for adsense. My site was here when AdSense was still a glint in google's eye and my site will still be here in 10 years' time, whereas AdSense may be a dim and distant memory by then.

just thought I'd clarify that.

the question is, how much time do you spend in a day to add content to your site/sites or editing the content.

Shouldn't this question be in another forum? It isn't an AdSense question specifically.

(FWIW, I agree with esilou: My site existed long before AdSense did, and AdSense represents only a medium-sized slice of its revenues.)

No idea, depends from day to day. But at least 3 hours a day, that's the minimum.

(Not all the work is for AdSense by the way)

europeforvisitors,

to be honest I don't think there is a better place for this topic than here and that's why the title was "How long do you spend for adsense a day"...and NOT how long you spend on your web site and how old your website is.

Good question for the Adsense forum because there can be a big difference is how much time one spends related to Adsense and how much time on site work in general.

Once you get your positioning and format down pretty well, Adsense takes very little time. Well, checking stats can use up a bit each day.

I am trying an additional adblock on a few pages right now. Adding that took maybe a couple hours to sort out formatting and rework the 40 pages so the ad would fit.

I do my whole site manually, one page at a time, so If I add the new adblock to the rest of my pages it would take about 15 - 20 hours. That's about what it took to add adlinks earlier this year.

Other than big changes like that, I spend more time here keeping up with forum news than messing with the Adsense on my site.

I would like to throw in another question on topic:

When / How / Did you find the point when more ad optimization for the same site is pointless, and its time to move on and direct the majority of your effort into content or new projects?

Question:
"When / How / Did you find the point when more ad optimization for the same site is pointless, and its time to move on and direct the majority of your effort into content or new projects?"

Answer:
When you try YPN and find it is paying you more than Adsense, then you quit trying to optimize the Adsense ads.

We are now in the phase of changing each site to try both ad servers. One we switched back to Adsense, one we kept on YPN. We work through the list. That is a time consuming process in itself.

this was the question, nothing about ad optimisation. And, as I said, I do a lot of all those things but not for Adsense, but for myself.

Oh dear, did I misunderstand the question? If it was how much time do I spend optimizing my sites for adsense the answer is zero.

After a year of testing adblocks, colors, and adlinks etc., it turns out that skyscrapers work best for my sites.

I don't mess with changing them anymore because it takes too long for the mediabot to come back, and for the ads to build history.

I havn't spend more than an hour a week on adsense for the last few months. Very busy building a new site though.
