What's a good CTR?

Just started and I'm getting 4% is that good?

Sorry for the newbie question but just started putting Adsense on several of my sites. Been meaning to do this for some time.

I'm seeing around a 4% CTR....

Maybe this is a dumb question but is this low - high - normal? Obviously the higher the better. Just wondering what a "realistic" CTR should be.

That's good, but you could probably still get it at lot better by careful ad placement (unless you have a forum site, which tend to have low CTRs).

Of more importance, though, is that declaring your CTR rates publicly is against the Adsense TOS. Despite the practices exhibited by some members here, you can only declare gross income.

I would say that was very good! I get less than half that amount...

4% is about what I get (content site).

4% is a good ctr for me, im usually mid 2's

im proud to say that sinds yesterday i have a way higher CTR.. its now 5%

I don't do much with adsense but I do have it on one product review site. My CTR for December is 27% - I use one banner above the article (per google's heatmap) and one skyscraper down the right side.

i want to say another thing

its related to what kind of Ads you get on that specific spot on your site...

Like:

***SPORT Article**********
***SPORT Article**********
***AD bye a hocky stick***

Or:

***SPORT Article**********
***SPORT Article**********
***AD Read now! hocky mag***

and ofcouz what are your visitor looking for...

blend the stuff in and you are on good way,

ps. 27% is high, OMG ... my opinion is above 25% is made for Adsense :p
