You should be able to, have you tried it yet? The FP borders act like Includes so if you know how to modify the borders and insert the AdSense code, I see no reason why it should not work.

I have Adsense ads in an include page using FP2002 and they work fine so I suppose the borders tool would work fine too as well.

I know how to modify the borders, but given that borders are saved in a page called "top.htm" and then included in all pages of the web, I was wondering if Adsense woudd read the content from the the web

Whatever you see when you view the source code of your page at the browser level is exactly what the bots will see.

As others have said, there shouldn't be any problem at all. I've got a site of several thousand pages that I created and maintain in FrontPage (I'm currently using FP2002), and AdSense works just fine in the shared borders.

Also, if you want to modify the top border (with code or anything else), you can simply open the top.htm page in FrontPage with the "file open" command and edit it directly.
