Has Winter Holidays begun.

I am asking this because my site stats gradually show a downfall over the past few days...

Also what is winter holidays and how long is it celebrated?

In the US and many other northern countries, people are starting to get busy PREPARING for Christmas. Christmas itself happens on the 24th and 25th, followed a week later by New Year's. Many people take time off from work during that week.

Many colleges and universities have already closed for the holidays.

Depends on your demographics as to when the dropoff will start. Sounds like yours started already. Don't worry about it, things will pick back up.

I'd expect traffic and advertising revenue to start to tail off from this weekend. People won't be doing as much shopping on the web next week because there won't be time for things to be delivered before Xmas day on the 25th.

I think we passed the peak last week.

Our Christmas / New Year's guests start arriving this weekend.

I would expect the next two weeks to be low in referrals.

I've been earning my living online for more than 10 years, and I've always seen a slowdown during the holiday season. For my travel-planning site, traffic and revenues pick up again (often dramatically) somewhere between Dec. 26 and the beginning of the new year.

I've seen an average 33% reduction across the board so far this month however the EPC is actually increasing.

I agree with EFV, my statistics show that 26th December is turnaround day for my sites as my niche trade starts thinking about early Spring, Summer and possibly Autumnal stocks required.

Interestingly our "real world" business is flat out with long-term enquiries and quotations for some of the most incredible projects imaginable.

My EPC is well up, the CTR and eCPM well above average and I've already done 60% of a usual Sunday with less than half the usual number of pages and visitors!

Even my server e-mail box is nowhere so full of the garbage and viral attachments it usually is...

I've noticed a higher eCPM in the last few days, too, though total traffic and revenues are down somewhat (as I'd expect them to be right before the holidays).

My guess on the ECPM's is that there is less traffic on the web overall, hence less ad space served, and so the ECPM's go up accordingly.

My traffic is slowing down, too. Probably off 20% at least, although revenue is only off 10%. It's going to fall more this work. I don't think things will pick up until the 27th or later.

It's hard to compare it to last year's stats, because we lost 1/2 our traffic around Dec. 10, which must have been something Google tweaked. But the ECPM's went way, way up, and it wasn't that noticable a hit at first. By the end of Dec. / first 2 weeks of Jan. I really started to panic. Then it climbed back up again...
