I've been approached by a major company who wants to put a text link on the home page of my site. It is the first time I've been contacted for something like this so it is all new to me. I run AdSense.

Can I do this without running into problems with Google? Thank you for any suggestions you can provide.

If it's not contextual (doesn't change in response to the text on the page where it appears) and not set up to mimic an AdSense ad, there is no problem.

Thank you!

I don't fully understand what you mean by this:

"not set up to mimic an AdSense ad"

To me, most text ads look the same. For example, Yahoo Publisher Networks ads look much the same as Google. Can you please clarify what you mean?

For example, Yahoo Publisher Networks ads look much the same as Google.

That's why YPN and AdSense cannot be displayed on the same page.

Here is an example of an acceptable text link:

Google [google.com] The Best Search Engine On the Planet

This one mimics Google ads and is not:

Google [google.com]
The Best Search Engine
On the Planet
www.Google.com

This is very, very, very helpful. Thanks to both of you!

You also can't use the same font, or frame it in the same way.
