Thus while being on page one (or two) is great, having a PR6 would be much better than having a PR2.
You went from a 6DFT to a 2DFT
Good job!
The formula that determines Page Rank is Google's secret, as is its impact on rankings in Google search results. Many webmasters believe it is driven by number and quality of inbound links amongst other things, and that a higher rank helps your page get higher in the search results. There is plenty of discussion about this in the main Webmasterworld Google forum.
wyweb, DFT? enlighten me please
Down From Top ranking... sorry, poor attempt at humor.
I know if you are higher in the search pages more people will visit and therefore you would probably earn more money.
What I am wondering if there is a relation between smart pricing and being in the top few in search engine results.
An example:
Being on top for a term like "free widgets" would decrease the eCPM because of the low quality traffic that term brings. With "quality" I mean "willingness to purchase". Basically, the more free stuff hunters your site gets, the lower eCPM you get.
That's only a basic example. I think there's a relationship between our earnings and every single stat of our sites out there.

Could you expand on this? I know it's probably not a simple matter of just PR. Could a lot of good content and links from content sites help?
I always wonder though, if content sites convert well. Or do the spammy sites convert better as people are looking for a specific thing?
When I look in the Google Directory (in the category my site shows in) it places number 15 under the heading "Viewing in Google PageRank order."Since this is not PR15, how do I determine what the PR number is?
You can also guess/estimate your PR by the green bar along side your Google directory listing. Use a scale of 1 being the smallest green bar and 10 being the largest green bar.
