Google's way to say "Thank You".

Noticed unusually high EPC on special days

When I logged on to AdSense today, I was pleasantly surprised to see an unusual high EPC so far. And this on a Thursday which is traditionally not a well-performing day for me! I had this before just once, and that was the day before my birthday.

the day before my birthday --> + 94%
compared to the two weeks average before and after that day!

Thanksgiving so far --> + 80%
compared to the two weeks before Thanksgiving

So I started to wonder whether Google has a very special way to say "Thank You" to us?

Anyone else affected?

Higher CTR on weekends and public holidays is understandable

Surfer has more time to surf and therefore more willing to click on something they find of interest

most when surfing from work find the information they are looking for and don't surf just to surf

Higher CTR on weekends? I always have lower earnings during the weekends. Look like my visitors surfing mostly during work hours.

Sorry explained that wrong
lower visitors but 2% increase in CTR by those who visit earnings are still slightly lower but better ecpm so earnings higher per thousand

High EPC means high clicks.
High click = not good for advertisers, too expensive.

Have you done a proper multiple regression, allowing for tidal movements and the price of oil as possible confounders?

Don't forget to allow for the phase of the moon. I hear that it can be quite auspicious given the proper consideration.

I realise that was tongue in cheek, but if a pandemic ever happened, it would affect us all, and not just at an AS level.

There are many here I am sure who were (the sites/business etc) very badly affected by SARS, and if all the hype it to be believe Bird Flu has the potential to be a lot worse.

Let's hope we never see a thread like that.

I too have lower earnings on weekend. I think most people web browsing at the office, and weekend is for the families :)

Well, I was going to ask about the same, but wanted to wait to see if anyone else noticed this "trend" ...

My eCPM was incredibly high on Thanskgiving ... Impressions and clickthrus pretty much normal, but eCPM as much as 10x normal ... Thanks Adsense :-)
