Adsense & MSN

Recently afet i noticed that after addind adsense to my site, My MSN rankings have dropped, earlier i used to get decent traffic, now they are barely...is this due to adsense?

It's just something happening at the same time.

I have just translated a page to english,
nearly no traffic from Google
traffic from MSN.

Not for me it has not...my MSN SERPs make it look so spammy it's crazy.

MSN is spidering fast, no sandbox!, and actually giving good results however too many duplicates and related results from my own sites which Google "knows" are different therefore not relevant to the query.

Ranking on MSN is like riding Nemesis at Alton Towers. But from our experience MSN don't penalise Adsense sites.

Why would MSN penalize AdSense sites? That would invite litigation which, if MSN prevailed, would set a precedent for Google excluding MSN's publisher sites when MSN launches its own program.

Never had a problem with MSN...now riding Yahoo! is a different beast altogether...

I asked the same question. My rankings have plumetted on both MSN and Yahoo since adding Adsense, yet were relatively stable on both SEs for the preceeding 3 years.

Fingers crossed it is just coincidence. On the plus side, my Google traffic has gone up to compensate!

if you have a 'fresh' website and had good rating in MSN - adsense has nothing to do with your drop in MSN. MSN simply reacts more quickly to new websites, places them quite high in the beginning even (what makes webmasters go 'wooohoo') but later they drop you website a bit down usually. If you have good content and SEO is done OK - you should be up again - its a rollercoaster ride on MSN :)

If you had your website running for years and your placement dropped - still I think its other reason then adsense (could be new competition etc...).

If putting Adsense on your page increases the number of outgoing links, then it is likely that MSN could lower the priority of your page based on their algorithm.

In my experience, there are too many other things going on for me to know whether or not this actually happens.

A site of mine ranks well on MSN for a very competetive keywords and it runs AS.

I've seen no problems with MSN listing pages with Adsense on them.

We are number one for our main terms on two different sites with MSN and both sites are loaded with AS.
