Hi,

I recently applied for a google adsense account and after waiting 3 weeks with no reply I chased google. I got the following response.

'We've found that your AdSense account is related to an account previously disabled for invalid click activity. Publishers whose accounts have been disabled for invalid clicks are not allowed further participation in the AdSense programme.'

The thing is I've never had an active adsense account! I'm guessing that a previous owner of my domain was disabled?

I replied to google with the following :-

'thanks for the reply.

I have never had an active adsense account so it can not have been me that had the 'invalid click activity'.

My only thought is that a previous owner of the domain %mydomain%.com had their account disabled for this?

Please see the whois data below which shows that I have only owned the domain since May this year. The domain was available and I have no idea who owned it before me. I can get godaddy.com to confirm this if required.

I am keen to try the adsense programme and can assure you I will fully respect your Terms and Conditions and programme policies if accepted onto your scheme. I would ask therefore that you enable the account if my site meets your criteria.

If you have any further questions regarding my ownership of the %mydomain%.com domain please let me know. As I said I will be happy to get further confirmation from godaddy.com if required.'

It has been a week since I sent this but I've received no reply.

Any advice? Should I chase again? Has anyone else had this problem?

Thanks in advance.

I'm starting to wonder if someone with the same name got banned in the past?

Or... Maybe G is using the same company brother Bush used in Florida to discount voters who had criminal records. lol

Indiangal,

This is what I wrote to Google:

"
Could you kindly review your reply to my query. I am a bit puzzled by it.

I have never had an Adsense application neither do I know anyone who has an adsense account.

This is my first application ever for Adsense. I have not ever created a website that has had adsense in it.

I am definitely sure this reply to me does not relate to my account because I have never had Adsense on any website I created. Could you kindly review my application if the reasons related to fraudulent clicks is why my first and only application was rejected.
"

Some of this speculation brings up an interesting point:

What if an existing Adsense publisher in good standing moved somewhere a notorious click frauder had previously lived?

Would the Google automated fraud detection match up the addresses with a past tenant and boot you out of the program?

That letter is the best thing to happen to you. Take it from an Adsense veteran, you don't want to get involved with these people.

Find some otherway to monetize your website, Adsense is never going to be what it used to be, and it's only getting worse.

Just to update you I got an email from Google today which included the following :-

'We apologise if the prior disapproval of your application was made in error.

We've now reviewed and approved your application.'

So I'm in :-)

Thanks for all the advice everyone.

It seems the best advice is if you know you've done nothing wrong :-

1. Send them a polite email preferably with some form of proof.

2. Be patient! There was always at least a week between email replies from Google so don't get too despondent if you don't hear anything from them in 48 hours.

3. Don't give up!

Cheers

They are always a reasonable lot when they read your letter in person. Congrats.
