Has anyone tried sending markdown to increase AI citations?

I was just wondering if anyone has tried sending markdown versions of their pages to the agents who ask for it, to try and increase AI citations.
i already have a script to cache my pages so it's not a huge amount of work stripping out all the html and adding in a few markdown bits and pieces, then checking the headers for Accept "text/markdown, text/html" - i think that's how cloudflare do it
i've done a bit of reading and the consensus seems to be that it won't help at all, but it won't hurt either. and i suppose it might be something useful to have for the future

Interesting, I have llms.txt on three sites so far and all three are being cited more often and llms.txt is definitely being picked up. Ok, I did also re-arrange / tweaked things to how I evaluated AI seems to prefer information, purely my observations, nothing else.
