Because of an oversight in updating contact details, Nominet suspended a colleague's 15-year-old .co.uk domain when he changed host.

This was corrected and the domain reinstated within 48 hours. However, the site has now vanished completely for any relevant term in Google search, including for e.g. This Example (and This Example location), where the domain name is thisexample.co.uk, and G previously returned it at #1, as other SEs still do.

site:thisexample.co.uk shows the site is indexed.

My expectation is that this will right itself in time, but the present position places considerable strain on the business in the meantrime. Has anyone any idea of the likely timescale?

Somewhere between now and WhenEver! g has tinkered with its search listings so much it is hard to say with any accuracy when a listing will appear. If nothing else, it sounds like it might be "starting from scratch" instead of "picking up where left off."

The fact it IS indexed is a strong indicator that it is merely a matter of time (on their part) and patience (on your friend's part) to start appearing on the lists again.

About a week, as it turns out.
