Because of an oversight in updating contact details, Nominet suspended a colleague's 15-year-old .co.uk domain when he changed host.
This was corrected and the domain reinstated within 48 hours. However, the site has now vanished completely for any relevant term in Google search, including for e.g. This Example (and This Example location), where the domain name is thisexample.co.uk, and G previously returned it at #1, as other SEs still do.
site:thisexample.co.uk shows the site is indexed.
My expectation is that this will right itself in time, but the present position places considerable strain on the business in the meantrime. Has anyone any idea of the likely timescale?
