Today I noticed my domain name was duplicate indexed in Google with its mail version (I dont even use any mail from my server).

For example if my domain name is example.com I saw duplicate on Google with mail.example.com

Has anyone had something like that happening? The server support only said:

We could see that mail.domain.com is pointing to this server IP xx.xx.xx.xx.
When it called in the browser it will show the content of the correct website example.com.
We can prevent this by creating a subdomain in the name mail.to-example.com under the same cpanel account.

Ever get this figured out? Generally this only happens with catch-all wildcard subdomains. Fix it with a 301 redirect and/or a robots.txt for that host.

Well if your software uses it though. Wordpress or mucho cms's can use it without your explicit instructions.

Just communicate to the web developer to include middleware routing on the website. Explain them about the issue and it will get rectified.
