Design the website for the customers. Make it easy for them to find what they want. Provide extensive information about each product. All of this is more important than SEO.

The SEO is absolutely no different other than ensuring that there is plenty of the necessary trade product information.
What you will need to make clear on the contact / purchase page(s) especially is that the supply is B2B only. Even after 30 years I still get retail purchase enquiries even though I state in capitalised red letters Bulk Trade Only - 24 Tonnes - Full Container Loads.
This is 99% a USA issue therefore I have a standardised response prepared including links to USA trade membership directories plus some of the larger wholesale importers / suppliers.
I have a dedicated payments page detailing our various payment acceptance routes and currencies.

Plenty of appliicable, accurate, relative trade text descriptions plus high quality, compressed images, I rarely go above 1000 x 1000, if they need higher resolution images they'll ask.
Needless to say, ensure that the site is mobile friendly and accessible. I prefer html5 for speed and as little code bloat as possible which can cause problems in older browsers.
