Page Not Being Indexed

Written with unique content, non-duplicate.

Hi Everyone,

I am struggling with my particular page not being indexed and it is a Landing page. I didn't add it to the website's HTML sitemap. I created that in August, but it is showing the URL is not on Google. I used the no index tag and now the crawler is not crawling the page but it is crawling the website. I removed the noindex tag but the situation is the same.

I used several methods to make it index but nothing is working and it is also showing in the Excluded by ‘noindex’ tag section. I validated it and now it has been a month that page is in the pending section of GSC.

The content on the page is not duplicated from other pages and is 100% unique.

If someone could help me in this situation, I would appreciate it!

Hi Monish kumar and welcome to WebmasterWorld [webmasterworld.com]

When you added that noindex tag it gave Google the idea that you did not want it to be indexed. Unfortunately, Google needs all available signals before they consider that you now want the page indexed.

Removing the noindex meta tag is good. Adding the page to your sitemap and resubmitting the sitemap would be helpful to reinforce the change you want to see.

Once you have taken those steps, it can help if other pages on your site are linked to that page so it becomes a regular part of their crawl.

Thank you for replying not2easy. However, I added that page with all the pages that are ranking but still, it is not crawling that particular page. Is there any other way that you can suggest to me?

Have you checked your logs to be certain they have not crawled it? You don't have crawling blocked in robots.txt, right?

If you have taken the steps mentioned, including adding links from other pages and they still have not crawled it you can only wait until they do. If you continue submitting it hoping to make it happen you may slow down indexing as each submit step can reset their scheduled crawl.

It is not impossible that there is some technical reason they have not indexed the page. In some cases they will point out a problem, but not always. There is no guarantee that Google will index any particular page and there are currently many people complaining that "Discovered, not indexed" is showing in GSC.

Like not2easy said, check the status of the page in search console. Was it crawled, was it discovered? How fast are your pages usually indexed?

You sent the signal to Google that you did not want it to be indexed. Depending on how big your site is, there is a strong possibility that it registered the information and has not yet come back to it. You could use the request indexing feature in SC to try and speed it up, but overall there is not much you can do to force it.

Google's official position is that they do not care about the content being unique or duplicated. Duplicated content would only come into play if Google chose a different canonical.

Yes, I checked the status of the Page it is showing in the "Excluded by ‘noindex’ tag" even though I removed the tag from the page. I have validated the page and it is showing in the pending section it is almost 2 months and it is still not indexed. I have used several methods to make that page index.

Can't verify the link below since I've never had reason to REMOVE a web page (or site) from g's index cache. Might or might not help in the present situation---but it sure sounds like g is not getting the signal you WANT to well and truly reindex this page and remove all other versions.
