We are a team and we are working out for numerous pages on the same domain for a long time but in the recent days we could see rank drop especially in US, whereas UK remains almost same and in South Korea there is a huge boost in our rankings ever before in 2023. We haven't changed our work routine and strategy but we couldn't figure out why there is a drop in US and a huge surge in SK on the other hand. And this is not for one or two pages, this is the exact scenario of most of the pages.

Time reference? This is new? How long? If only a few days consider it an outlier. G is always updating their algos/datacenters and this might be just one more of those...

Needs to be more consistent than just a few days or even a week...

It is a bit puzzling but I believe the most possible reasons can be algorithmic updates or regional trends.

It's quiet two weeks now. We have already experienced this a long back in the end of 2022 but we thought that it may be a change in google algorithm and it has been back to normal in few days and now its again we couldn't figure it out why. And while we analyze all the dropped pages we couldn't figure out on which basis the particular pages are dropped. Few of the pages hasn't been worked out for a while, and other few pages are being worked out on regular basis and this is same situation for both the new pages and old pages combined. But other half of the pages remains the same or improved one or two positions.

Can anyone get me a point on this situation?

Your GSC account for this domain may hold information to help. From here, people can only guess, the possible causes are numerous.

Can anyone get me a point on this issue?

Where are you based?
Which country(ies) are your target market(s)?
Where is your site registered and hosted?
How old is the site?
Is it evergreen, informational or ecommerce?

We are based in India but we have hosted it on California as we are targeting US and European countries and basically we are service based company.

Ok, you're not going to like this and I have no doubt that many may disagree with me however I am an Anglo-Indian company of 50+ years and a UK company of 180+ years.

The last few years I have experienced Google's "bias" against such companies as mine and more in favour of localisation, that is G deliberately promotes US businesses over non-US. In the last 3 years alone I have seen my traffic reduce by 60% meanwhile most other countries have remained the same. My pages have not been replaced by better sites they have been replaced by inferior, look-a-like clones generally offering very little to the searcher.

I am not the only one to experience this, many of my trade colleagues in India have seen this too as well as many other suppliers from other countries. For the local user localisation of the SERPs is obviously very good however for those requiring more than "me too" pages, it is, shall we say, inadequate, however this is what I / you have to live with at the present time.

@DanielGriffin

In what country is your company based?
What countries do you target?

@DanielGriffin

Sorry, just saw your reply. Sad to say, I believe @RedBar is correct. Interestingly, the biggest drop I've ever seen in my 18-year Adsense history was when I moved out of the United States for three years to do ministry work. I was doing fantastic while living in the USA, my home country, but then we moved out of the country. 10 months later, I saw a massive 35% revenue drop because of a drop in my USA rankings. This time, the end of 2017, was what I believe the beginning of regional or location-based partisanship...especially if your target is another country. Many USA companies use location-based salaries to keep pay equitable. Google may have adopted this approach too. This is pure speculation, however.

If you use Google webmaster tools they will see that you are India based through the IP address that you have when you log on. If you registered your domain name (hopefully a .com and definitely not an Indian TLD) with an Indian address they will have access to that, they are an ISP after all. If you are selling in the USA you really need a USA address, a .com registered to a USA address, and a server in the USA. Don't bother trying to use a proxy for Webmaster Tools, Google has been able to see through that since forever so use an alternative tracking service if you need to.

I couldn't relate to it. How would that affect my rankings and for the past few years the ranking has been good but during the past few weeks the results are completely opposite of what we have been going through in the past. And we have our server located in California then what's the problem with that in case google consider the location. I really couldn't relate to the current scenario on what's going on with our site ranking. It would be thankful if anyone could provide a solution.

And due to the drop in USA we are seeing a few ranking drop on other countries too. But its not for all pages, there are pages that are still stable, and more over on the other had one or two pages which have been in a dead state for nearly a year ranks on first page even we haven't worked for it. This is something new and its wasting our works.

For those who run a Business catering for the US you should consider to get a LLC from Delaware.

That way you become a US based company.

This is the problem I am also facing. My website rank also went down in the last two days.

I used one for many years however G does not simply use a company registration whereabouts to determine localisation.

To be clear I comprehend G's reasoning for localisation and for many years I have suggested that G / we need a better method of listing international B2B sites / suppliers, most of the big country trade directory sites are utterly useless for B2B buyers and sellers,

We are a brick and mortar store based in Canada, our Canadian rankings/traffic have dropped but our US traffic has been steadily increasing by the week....
