Does Core Web Vitals affect Google Discover?

What is your take on this? A lot of people are saying that you don’t have to have a perfect Core Web Vitals to perform well on Google Discover…

I had days where our websites would get between 100K and 300K clicks from Google Discover and our core Web Vitals were failing (Bad CLS and bad LCP)

There's no such relationship between both, that is to say, your Core Web Vitals never determine how you perform on Google Discover. That's what Google's John Mueller clarified in an answer on Mastodon Social, "I'd be surprised if CWV were a requirement for Discover."
