I am working on an eCommerce websites. This website is related to eyewear. Website structure is as given below:

Homepage - /
Glasses - /glasses
Cateye - /cateye-glasses

Now the breadcrumb navigation on this cateye glasses page is : Home -> Cateye Glasses

If I change this breabcrumb navigation is to : Home -> Glasses -> Cateye glasses

without changing the website structure. Does it tell search engine crawlers to understand website hierarchy?

@Amit Gupta ... Welcome to Webmasterworld!

Are you doing this via a cms? Are canonicals properly coded?

Yes, updating the breadcrumb navigation to "Home -> Glasses -> Cateye Glasses" would help search engine crawlers better understand the website hierarchy.

By including the "Glasses" category in the breadcrumb, you are providing additional context for search engine crawlers to understand that "Cateye Glasses" is a subcategory or subset of the broader "Glasses" category. This can help with the indexing and ranking of the page in search engine results pages (SERPs), as search engines can better understand the relationship between different pages on your site.

Although changing the breadcrumb might help (although I doubt it will make any noticeable difference to SEO) really, the website should be structured correctly like: /glasses/cateye-glasses which would help pass authority from the /glasses category to the /cateye-glasses category.
