Google's Maile Ohye presents a video aimed at SEO beginners on building an SEO strategy.

"Maile Ohye describes how to create a holistic SEO strategy inclusive of all your company's online channels (website, blog, social media channels). She uses the mock company, Webmaster Central, and pretends to be the SEO manager of the Webmaster Central Blog."

It's worth bearing in mind that this is Google's message, so you should bear in mind there are other analytics and ways to measure, analyse and manage your SEO strategy. Well, there used to be before lost of data went in-house with Google. ;)

@engine - Indeed. Did you mean "lost" , "lots" or both ? ;

This might be a good video for SEO's to present to unfamiliar clients, or their corporate bosses to help them understand in a simplistic way, the extent of involvement required. It might also be good for all folks to get back to basics.

Maile Ohye's analogy of a children's soccer/football team , learning to be competitive, with goals, interacting in unison with each other and dealing with the circumstances to hand, might be elementary, but it's so true.

When focused on the mechanics of the moves, the legs don't move, or the band doesn't play e.g. chasing the algo versus differentiating, by building a great user experience created from a central set of strong values that are constantly important to users.

It might also be time to "pretend" you know nothing, apply some brain plasticity [abc.net.au...] and [en.wikipedia.org...] to retrain from the start and begin to think like new, then, become superb at it.

As Maile say's " Go for it". Good Luck.
