I like that you don't need a separate file just for images - you can just add them to an existing Sitemap file. I agree with some of the comments after the article that a format for an alt attribute seems like a good idea.
Exactly what benefit does this bring to webmasters?
I'm guessing it'll just help Google to make their Image Search more accurate, which just makes it easier for image thieves to find what they're after.

Yes, image stealing may be a downside. However, there are many businesses who have monetized Image Search traffic well - essentially, any product where the appearance is important to the consumer.

its not working at the moment. image schema didnt published but you can add images to your current sitemap, Its not a problem. [google.com...] [google.com...]
