Pagerank queries - the <rk> parameter

What do such figures as Rank_1:1:6 Rank_1:1:5 mean?

We already know that toolbar PR is in fact an historical figure. When you query google for current PR, you get some mysterious figures such as:

Rank_1:1:6 Rank_1:1:5 Rank_1:1:4 Rank_1:1:4 Rank_1:1:5 Rank_1:1:6 Rank_1:1:5 Rank_1:1:0 Rank_1:1:1 Rank_1:1:5 Rank_1:1:2 Rank_1:1:3 Rank_1:1:0 Rank_1:1:0 Rank_1:1:3

These figures are for a site that has a current toolbar of PR4.

I searched the web for an explanation, but failed to get a good one.

Is there any idea as to what all these magical numbers mean?

Well the tools are already out there and have been for a while.

For me the intresting thing is that my site got a TBPR0 the last update - although I have a feeling that it had been a PR0 for a lot longer then the toolbar said (It was a PR0 in the Google directory for a lot longer - last June I think.)

The Big-Daddy DC has my PR at 5 though :)

So I for one hope that this tool does show future PR - now if only my serp placements came back.

Hi, because the german 'abakus' forum is down in the moment, I registerd here (I need to write something :-).

If you replace &features=Rank with &num=20&start=0 (=20, =40 ...) you will see much more links compared to link:example.com

If you find your own site in the xml-file just look at the <RK> tag and you will see your current PR. At least for my site it seems to work (new PR5 old PR4 :-).

Cool, now where exactly do we find this query. I noticed it has a unique number in it.

Is this a particular search query in Google that produces this string?

The 'Rank_1:1:8 Rank_1:1:7 Rank_1:1:5 Rank_1:1:7 Rank_1:1:2 Rank_1:1:3.....' type number appear to be directly related to related website/pages.

Try the command with &features=Rank

It will start with the queried pages PR, the rest are related pages PR.

You can check this by doing the above command without the &features=Rank... this generates an XML file, look for the <RK></RK> tags, the match exactly to the first query!

So, does this confirm that TBPR is based on realPR and related pages realPR?

So in order to find the TBPR there must be some calculation doing on the RealPR and the related pages RealPR - and ideas?

Well sort of - It returns a result page for the query - so the queried page may not always be top.

The pages in the xml format are just pages from the search query - eg most queries we are running are www.domain.com - but it is just the result page for www.domain.com

Eg. Try words like hello etc or search for "www.domain.com" - you will see the placements tally (assuming you are hitting the correct DC at the time)

Yes, I was about to write the same thing. After studying the xml file, I noticed that those figures correspond to the current PRs of other pages [inbound links]that are the subsample of backlinks to the site.

The first of these figures is the current (not toolbar) PR of the page in question.

(This seems true at least for the pages I just checked. Anway, one can easily find which figure (PR) corresponds to which page by checking the xml.)

:)
