Alphabet has reported revenues of $75.3 billion, up 32% Year-on-Year, on an operating income $21.8 billion, up 29% year-on-year.
Its unaudited revenues for the year $257.6 billion, up 41% y-o-y.
Sundar Pichai, CEO of Alphabet and Google, said: “Our deep investment in AI technologies continues to drive extraordinary and helpful experiences for people and businesses, across our most important products. Q4 saw ongoing strong growth in our advertising business, which helped millions of businesses thrive and find new customers, a quarterly sales record for our Pixel phones despite supply constraints, and our Cloud business continuing to grow strongly.”

Clearly, when studying the document in more detail, Google's ad revenues continue to grow strongly, and give the company financial opportunities to keep developing "other bets."

I bet their increase revenue means a decrease in the percentage of users who click on organic listings in the search results.

Google is just adding more and confusing widgets that push down organic results and keeps visitors on Google properties.

Plus snippets are more targeted meaning visitors do not have to visit the source for the answer thereby depriving the website of potential revenue.

A disgrace for the west political class.

Mandated closures of small businesses in 2020/21 led to...
- 21% of small businesses permanently closed
- 30% avg revenue loss for small businesses
- 100% revenue gain for Amazon
- 78% revenue gain for Walmart
- big tech up by billions
* data from gov's websites, numbers are ballpark due to fluctuations by area.

We're experiencing the largest wealth transfer in recent history with the rich getting wildly richer. Perhaps it's not time to gloat about profits and new opportunities @ Google. For many it's a struggle just to survive and not lose everything right now.

That has nothing to do with profits any more. We are now talking total economic budgets of smaller countries.
G is not providing any added value like for example T0y0ta who built over 5 million cars last year.
G only leverages their power over the access to a marketplace while holding your own goods(websites) hostage.

Economics is a closed system, what is being added some place is taken away at another.
G is basically stealing money from many businesses around the world while at the same time preventing them normal access to that same marketplace. These "earnings" are actually at the expense of others, not because G is providing added value, they are just a gate keeper.

Fortunately this will stop itself in the future when the market will be saturated or sooner when more an more companies are now also seeing that ppc is not providing any ROI as expected......it's just all google-tax that they are paying.

The european parliament is voting on a new law that has got G and FB really worried now, I just wish they would work a bit faster!

It's worth noting that Google's ad revenues aren't just from Google Search. Not by a long shot:

Search however is used to boost and promote their other properties, I would bet everything I own that these other properties wouldnt be half as profitable if they didn't control and manipulate search the way they do. Search still accounts for the majority of their revenues in any case.

“Google Tax”

Let’s all refer to that.

EU is late and useless about tech in general.

The fact the impression reports do not make any sense in their ad reporting seems not to interest Europe either. Most of buyer journeys are personalised towards the few. No buyers see my ads. That is the problem.

Running a small business nowadays has become a harassment game.

G begins the revenue optimization cycle:
1. 4 ads on SEO results
2. A lot of products only show up to page 6, 7 instead of more than 10 like before
3. Youtube watch 1 hour is paused! And ask if you want to watch it again?
