This is for those that question the utility of blockchains, yes it was developed to cause harm but it demonstrates the untapped potential that this tech can offer.

The botnet weaponized bitcoin’s blockchain... By embedding command-and-control server addresses in the blockchain, and then having the botnet turn to that data whenever an infected server was shuttered, it stays a step ahead of the cybersecurity whack-a-mole.


“The Glupteba botnet cannot be eradicated entirely without neutralizing its blockchain-based infrastructure,” the complaint said.


That's right, not even Google can stop it.

Botnets do the same thing with Tor networks all the time. Is Google going to attack them as well? There are a million ways botnets can avoid detections - block chain is but one of them.
