The E.U. was approached by privacy campaigners to investigate
Google's proposed acquisition of Fitbit [webmasterworld.com] it announced last year. The group, Privacy International, is concerned that too much personal data is falling in to the hands of one company.
The E.U. will make a decision on its position by July 20.
