Wonk - sorta like "geek", but more professional. It grew in usage during the Clinton administration when he was regularly referred to as a Policy Wonk (someone who enjoys reading the latest budget proposals...etc).

I am kinda mixed on the possiblity of a Google IPO. Things would sure change. Not over night, but slowly they would. One little twist at a time.

Well, the obvious direction for them to take is to start charging along similar lines to Inktomi and Altavista. But, if they scale it according to their traffic....then it could be very expensive.

Perhaps the 'Fresh' thing is the tester for this - we will have to pay for pages to be refreshed daily in the future?

Dependency on one or on a few suppliers can be a dangerous practice.

I believe diversity is key to withstandng any change in the market place.

must be even as google is indexing M$ extensions -what more is does M$ wants- google wants $.

zechariah, I certainly hope you are wrong. MSN+Google+Overture = another Yahoo.

Who needs it? I hope they will be more creative than that.
